The popular HBO series has a reputation for killing off fan favorite characters.
Luckily,
readers of the book series by George R.R. Martin that inspired the show
have always taken comfort in knowing what horrors are to come.
However, the author recently revealed to Leah Sydney at Showbiz 411 that book fans can no longer depend on that comfort - and more characters will die in season five.
In an
appearance at the Writers Guild Awards in Los Angeles on February 14,
Martin told Showbiz that it doesn't matter if characters are still alive
in his book series, they could still be a target on the show.
And there will definitely be more shocking deaths in the popular series' season five, that are out of even his control, he said.
'People
are going to die who don't die in the books, so even the book readers
will be unhappy. So everybody better be on their toes. David and D.B.
[David Benioff and D.B. Weiss co-creators of Game Of Thrones] are even
bloodier than I am,' he said.

Martin, and co-creators D.B. Weiss and David Benioff spoke during HBO's
Game of Thrones season 3 event in San Francisco in 2013
Martin
continued that readers can no longer claim to know what is coming as
the plot of the TV show deviates significantly from his novels.
The good news for fans is that Martin says he will actually finish the long-awaited final two books of his series.
'Whatever
happens with the show, I'm going to finish the books, it will be seven
books,' he said of his series, A Song of Ice and Fire.
'But each of these books are 1500 pages long and they each have enough material in them for several seasons.'
