The 32-time Spanish champions fell four points behind Atletico Madrid at the top of La Liga after a 2-2 draw against Valencia on Sunday and Benitez was dismissed following a board meeting held on Monday afternoon.

Club legend Zidane, who has until this point managed Madrid's 'B' team, has long been linked with the top job and will now take charge.

Real president Florentino Perez said:

"I am here to say that the board has just decided, in a difficult decision, especially for me, to end the contract of Rafa as first-team coach.

"I would like to make it clear that he is a great professional."

Zinedine Zidane knows better than anyone what it is like to stand at the front and lead Real Madrid.

Throughout his career he has always been able to face up to huge challenges.

"He is one of the greatest players of all time. Zinedine, this is your club, your stadium and you have all our support. Zidane you are, from this moment, the trainer of Real Madrid."

JLo was in her element as she sizzled in a photoshoot for InStyle magazine.

Speaking to the publication about marriage, the thrice-married performer revealed that while she has not written off marriage, it certainly isn't a priority anymore.

'I need to be happy on my own,' she explained. 'If someone fits into that, great. But if they don't, that's OK too.

As girls, I think we are taught from a very young age that someone else is going to bring us our happiness. I was waiting for Prince Charming.

Everybody I met was going to be the guy I was going to spend my life with.

And then you realize, 'I'm strong' I'm my own keeper, my own savior. 'That's been the journey for me.'

Bill Cosby's wife humiliated and has given up on him..

Bill Cosby's wife Camille has had enough ,and has vowed to no longer be her husband's crutch, family insiders told The Newyork Post.!

This comes as she was absent at his first hearing last week.

"My husband doesn't deserve jail, but he does deserve every bit of the hell he's going through now even though he is still pretending that this hell doesn't exist," the anguished Camille confided, according to a close family source.

The source, who's been close to the family for more than two decades, said the infidelities of "America's Dad" were well-known to Mrs. Cosby, 71, who simply insisted that her husband be discreet and not shame her.

"But, she has been thoroughly humiliated and believe me, her anger isn't directed at the women," the source said.

"Bill has humiliated her, and the affairs he's had have gotten out of hand and this [criminal charge] is him reaping what he's sown."

After the first few of a torrent of women publicly accused Cosby of drugging and raping them, Camille scoffed at their claims.

Acting both as a wife and Cosby's business manager, she directed her husband's high-powered attorneys to "get back out in front of this."

But as the list of alleged victims swelled to more than 50, Camille "was sickened," another family source said. Several of the women have sought to depose her.

"She's been fighting giving a deposition, but that's not because she wants to keep protecting Bill, it's because it's so humiliating," the family source said.

"She's still married to Bill because of all of the court stuff and now the criminal stuff," the source said.

"She knows that you can't force a wife to testify against her husband and she doesn't want any part of this at all."

'Mahrez is doing things only Messi can achieve'

Riyad Mahrez's skills this season have been on par with Lionel Messi, according to former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher.

The Algeria international dazzled once again as his goal and assist fired Leicester City to a 2-1 victory over Chelsea, and to top spot in the Premier League.

Mahrez now has 11 goals and seven assists in the Premier League this season and Carragher insists the 24-year-old will be attracting interest from Europe's top clubs with his displays this term.

"Mahrez is doing things with that left foot that I have only seen Messi do," Carragher told Sky Sports.

"[Cesar] Azpilicueta was one of the best defenders in the League last season and he could not handle him. Mahrez is playing so well that top clubs in Europe will be looking at him.

"It's important that they [Leicester] keep their players in January. People might come in for Vardy and Mahrez, but if the players are smart they will stay where they are.

"They are playing great football, the club's got momentum and if they get into the top four it would be an incredible story."

How Vardy is outshining Messi AND Ronaldo together

Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy has scored as many league goals as both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo combined this season.

The 28-year-old's strike in his side's win over Chelsea on Monday was his 15th in England's top-flight since August and helped Claudio Ranieri's men move back above Arsenal at the top of the table.

That tally includes an 11-game scoring streak - a Premier League record - although that incredible run came to an end against Swansea City last weekend.

Meanwhile, Messi and Ronaldo, who will compete with Neymar for the Ballon d'Or next month, have managed just 15 between them this season.

Mourinho: I have been BETRAYED by my Chelsea players

Jose Mourinho admits he feels "betrayed" by his Chelsea players following their 2-1 defeat to Leicester City.

Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez fired Claudio Ranieri's side ahead and, despite Loic Remy's 77th-minute header, the defending champions were unable to salvage a point.

And after the defeat, the Chelsea boss suggested his team are not following his instructions to an acceptable level and claims they overachieved by winning the title last season.

"We conceded two goals that are unacceptable for me. I know one of my best qualities is to read the game for my players, to identify every detail about the opponent," Mourinho told SkySports.

"I feel that my work was betrayed. It's difficult for us to score goals when you have players who arenot in their best level. When you have some players, especially in crucial positions, it's difficult.

"It's hard. All last season I did phenomenal work and I brought them to a level that is more than they really are."

Lucas wants to stay at PSG despite Premier League reports

Paris Saint-Germain winger Lucas Moura said he has "never thought" about leaving the French club.

The Brazilian has attracted interest from several big clubs, with some reports suggesting he is set to make a move to the Premier League.

Lucas was purchased by PSG for €40million and arrived at the club in January 2013, and he has scored 19 goals in over 130 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit.

He has helped the club to three straight league titles, just as many Trophee des Champions, two Coupe de la Ligues, and one Coupe de France.

The 23-year-old said he is flattered by the interest from other clubs but claimed he cannot see himself leaving the Parc des Princes any time soon.

"I am pleased with the interest of big clubs in me - if it is true it shows that they are watching me and happy with my football," Brazil international Lucas told SporTV.

"But my head is focused on PSG, I never thought of leaving here and I want to achieve my goals here."

However, Lucas did say a move to the Premier League could be a possibility if he was no longer enjoying life in Paris.

"In football, you don't even know about tomorrow," he said.

"The Premier League is the strongest league and if tomorrow or later an opportunity comes and I'm not happy here, of course I'll have a think about it."

Valdano: There is a disconnect between Madrid manager and players

Former Real Madrid general manager Jorge Valdano said the club are paying the price for the "disconnect" between the coach and players.

Madrid suffered a 1-0 loss to Villarreal in La Liga on Sunday, a result that cost the capital club the chance to capitalise on Barcelona's draw at home to Deportivo La Coruna.

A win would have seen Rafael Benitez's side move to within two points of champions Barca, who surrendered a two-goal lead as they drew 2-2 on Saturday.

Valdano criticised Benitez and the players, claiming the side showed "weak spirit" in the first-half against Villarreal.

"There was a drop of collective intensity from the first minute," Valdano said on Cadena Ser programme El Larguero.

"It's inexplicable what happened in the first half, especially after seeing the second part.

Madrid had the opportunity to move within two points and they lost in the first-half with a team with weak spirit.

"In the first half Madrid acted with an unbecoming mediocrity.

"The former Argentina international, who was part of the side that won the 1986 World Cup, also spoke about the "complex" situation in the dressing room.

"At Madrid you cannot train the same way Villarreal does," he said.

"It's much more complex than that.

"Madrid are paying the price of having a disconnect between the manager and players."

Luiz: Paris Saint-Germain can win the Champions League

David Luiz is confident Paris Saint-Germain can challenge tournament favorites Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich for the Champions League title this season.

The Ligue 1 champions will enter the last 16 as one of eight second-seed sides after they finished as runners-up behind Madrid in Group A.

Despite losing just one of their six group matches, PSG's second-placed finish means theyare in line to draw one of the competition's heavyweights in the next round.

But defender Luiz insists Laurent Blanc's men will be prepared for the challenge, acknowledging that many factors in the build-up to knockout fixtures can affect the outcome.

Asked whether he felt PSG could compete with Europe's elite, Luiz replied:

"Of course. It's the Champions League so you can't choose too much if you want to win.

"There are the best players and the best coaches so you need to be ready to win against anybody. We want to show the evolution [of the club], even when I was not here - we are going the right way to improve.

"The Champions League is about details, too, likelast year; if we had everyone available to play against Barcelona in both games it would have been totally different.

"We didn't have everyone able to play. Many people were injured or suspended or not 100 percent right physically."

Manchester United going backwards under Van Gaal, says Ferdinand

Manchester United players are too afraid to express themselves and are going backwards under manager Louis van Gaal, according to former defender Rio Ferdinand.

Van Gaal has been criticised for his defensive style of play but the under-pressure Dutchman has showed no signs of swaying from his rigid approach despite the club's five-match winless run.

United lost 2-1 at Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday, adding to their Champions League group-stage exit midweek.

And Ferdinand said something has to change, sooner rather than later, with United fourth in the standings, four points adrift of leaders Arsenal.

"Players are playing it safe because they are afraid of the consequences if they try to take chances," Ferdinand told The Sun.

"Manchester United are going backwards again and I don't see that changing because the manager will not change.

"They have to be allowed to express themselves."

Van Gaal is under contract until 2017 but faces an uncertain future amid increasing fan frustration.

Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola and former Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti have been linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Ferdinand added:

"Pep Guardiola and Carlo Ancelotti will be available this summer and the question is will they be able to do a better job than Van Gaal?

"The board and owners might want to be loyal to Van Gaal after investing so much in him but they also have to do what is best for United.

"And if United finish outside the top four, that will be catastrophic.

"It might rule out the chance of getting either Guardiola or Ancelotti.

"It will be more difficult to attract the best players, too. The next six months are absolutely crucial."

Morata and Dybala are the future of Juventus - Marotta

Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta has issued a hands-off warning for clubs targeting duo Paulo Dybala and and and Alvaro Morata, insisting they are key to the club's future.

Barcelona have been linked with a move for Argentine striker Dybala, who only joined Juve from Palermo during the close-season.

Dybala netted his eighth goal of the Serie A campaign as Juve accounted for Fiorentina 3-1 on Sunday and Marotta insists the 22-year-old will not be sold.

"He is a player who is improving and still hasn't fulfilled his full potential, because he is so young," Marotta told Mediaset Premium.

"Week by week he is showing what he can do, butwe have no intention of selling him this year or any other year.

"We invested a lot of money in him and he represents the foundation to build on in future."

Morata re-signed with the Italian champions during the week, committing his future until June 2020.

However, former club Real Madrid still have a buy-back clause for the Spain international.

"It won't make any difference, it's just that if he remains with us then it's only right to invest in a player who has plenty of quality," Marotta added.

"We will enter negotiations with Real Madrid as soon as possible to resolve this situation and make it transparent.

"We hope to remove this clause. Real Madrid are well aware that he is a player who was promising and is now to all intents and purposes a star."

'Benitez has thrown Kroos under the bus'

Former Real Madrid coach Bend Schuster has hit out at Rafael Benitez's treatment of Toni Kroos after the German midfielder was left on the bench against Villarreal.

Kroos was an unused substitute in Madrid's shock 1-0 loss at El Madrigal on Sunday, with Benitez preferring Casemiro alongside James Rodriguez and Luka Modric in midfield.

Benitez was prickly when asked why he left Kroos on the bench, replying: "

He didn't play because Casemiro did."

And Schuster, who coached Madrid in 2007-08, hit out at the under-pressure Spaniard after the game.

"Benitez has thrown Kroos under the bus," Schuster told Onda Cero.

Roberto Soldado's eighth-minute strike was all that separated the two teams as Madrid suffered their third defeat in five La Liga matches.
