Wow! Congratulations are in order for Julianne Moore for winning her very first Oscar! She won one of the highest honors of the night — Best Actress!
The moment Julianne Moore's name was announced as the winner for Best Actress on Feb 22 at the Oscars, the crowd went wild! She has officially dominated the entire 2015 award season!
Matthew McConaughey, the 2014 Academy Award winner for Best Actor, announced Julianne as this years winner. An emotional Julianne took the stage and started her speech by saying, "Thank you so much, I read an article that winning an Oscar can lead to living 5 years longer, if that's true I'd like to thank the Academy because my husband is younger than me."
We are SO happy Julianne won — she looked so beautiful and happy up on that stage accepting the golden statue!
In this year's Still Alice, Julianne worked very hard to tap into an unknown world to portray the role ofDr. Alice Howland. She play a renowned linguistics professor in her 50s who is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimers, struggling to hang onto her sense of self for as long as she can.
