But on Thursday evening Drake showed off a collection of new tattoos, with one in particular hinting their turbulent relationship might have hit a road block yet again.
The Hold On We're Going Home hitmaker stepped out for dinner at Rivabella in Beverly Hills and debuted fresh ink on his right forearm that read: 'Everything happens for a reason sweet thing.'
On his left arm, the 27-year-old sported the famous emoji symbol of two hands clasped together next to the number 6.
While Drake hasn't commented on the meaning behind the tattoos it hasn't taken long for speculation and theories to arise. In early August during his performance of Days In The East at a show in Toronto, an image of Rihanna's face flashed up alongside the devil's alleged number of '666.'
After his performance the rapper took to social media and posted an image of him standing next to the fiery number six with the caption: 'All I know.'
The number six could also be homage to his upcoming album titled Views From The 6.
