Louis van Gaal insists Angel Di Maria "can do better" despite the Argentine's influential display in Manchester United's 4-0 win over QPR on Sunday. The £59.7 million summer signing from Real Madrid scored a free-kick on his Old Trafford debut and set up Juan Mata for United's fourth goal in the 58th minute. Di Maria also played a pivotal role in a number of United's attacks before he was brought off with eight minutes remaining, but Van Gaal believes the 26-year- old could have been better in possession. "When you make three goals and score the first yourself then you cannot play badly," the Dutchman told reporters. "But he had a lot of unnecessary losses [of possession], so he can do better. "It's nearly impossible to do better when you score one goal and help make three others, but I'm analysing the game and I see things we can improve on."
