Senate president Bukola Saraki has reacted to the allegations that he is set to dump the All Progressives Congress, amid the legal action started against him.
Talks about the possibility of defecting from the party started after Saraki had removed APC logo from his verified Twitter account. Moreover, his Twitter biography previously contained "Member of the APC" and now is changed to "Senate President and Chairman of the 8th National Assembly. Committed to Transparency and Accountability"
Saraki immediately responded to the reports saying he remained a committed member of the ruling party. See his today's tweet below:
I remain a card carrying member of my dear party. But I'm also honoured to serve as Senate President of all Senators https://t.co/WS81UyK63t

Meanwhile APC deputy national publicity secretary, Timi Frank, wrote an open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari in defense of Saraki, who is facing a 13-count corruption charge.
Timi urged Buhari to intervene, adding that otherwise the party might find itself in a serious political crisis.
