Boy, 15, charged with murdering his pregnant mother

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with murdering his pregnant mother five days after she was found dead inside their family home.

Nita Moseley, 33, was lying on the kitchen floor in La Marque, Texas, on Tuesday when a neighbor dropped by the visit.

Her son, who has not been named, was not in the house, prompting a five-day manhunt.

According to the Houston Chronicle, the academic football player was taken to the local police station on Sunday evening.

He was charged on Monday morning after interviews with detectives.

In a news statement, police said the boy was cooperating with the investigation.

They believe he acted alone.

According to neighbors, Moseley was four months pregnant when she was found dead.

The neighbor who found her toldKHOU: 'Saturday morning, when I drive by and I saw the door open, that's when I figured something was wrong.

'I thought maybe someone had broken in the house or something and that's when I found the unfortunate event that happened.

'She was four months pregnant. She was pretty happy-go-lucky. Didn't have a lot of drama in her life.

'He added that Moseley's son seemed to be stable.'Apparently he got really good grades,' he told the station.

'Smart kid, wanted to play football.'

Neighbors have told local reporters Moseley was found lying in a pool of her own blood and her black 2014 Nissan Maxima was missing.

Police said the car has been recovered since Moseley's son was detained.
