“We Know Who They Are” – Police Begin Hunt For Lekki Robbers

The police in Nigeria say investigations into the robbery incident in Lekki area of Lagos State have started, promising to arrest those behind the attack that left four persons dead. The armed robbers were said to have attacked a bank along Admiralty way Lekki, killing three policemen and a teenage fish hawker in a deadly shoot-out. While reacting to the attack, the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Kayode Aderanti, said the police had put up a very good fight, but regretted that three officers died in the process. "Unfortunately, after their loot, they escaped from the same lagoon they came from. "But we have been able to close-in on them. We know who they are and I just want to say that we are going to get them very soon," Mr Aderanti said.
