Guardiola defends Lewandowski against criticism

The successful coach says there is more to the attacker's game than just goals and has praised his intelligent positioning

The 26-year-old has netted just once in six official appearances for Bayern so far and some have already questioned his profligacy in front of goal.
Nevertheless, Guardiola has stressed that he is happy with the former Borussia Dortmund star's contribution and has hailed his intelligent play.
"I am very satisfied with Lewandowski's performances," Guardiola said at a press conference.
"He has had two to three chances in each game. He is a very intelligent striker and always finds himself in the right position.
"He doesn't have as much space here at Bayern as he was used to at Dortmund. They played on the counterattack more often."
Lewandowski joined Bayern from Dortmund on a Bosman transfer this summer after scoring 74 Bundesliga goals for BVB in the past four seasons.
